Grumpy White’s

Grumpy White’s talent with the deep fryer has yet to disappoint me, and only once have they over-cooked one of my medium-rare burgers. I feel that every bite of my meal might bring me one step closer to a heart attack, but, in my opinion, it is well worth it.
Every time I eat here, I know that I am going to order Potato Skins (remember to ask them to use real bacon) ($6.95) to start, but I can never decide between the Grumpy Fried Chicken sandwich ($6.95) and the Bacon Cheese Burger with a garlic bun ($8.05). This time, I went for the burger. Also, to start, some friends ordered Beer Battered Shrimp ($8.95), one of their new items, which was quite good.
Verdict: With their cheap beer, the best potato skins I have had in the Boston area, and an amazing burger (served with very tasty french fries), Grumpy White’s is my favorite burger/fried food restaurants in the area and is well worth the trip to Quincy.
I cannot believe you go to Quincy for the burgers.
If I can’t find something in my immediate area, I usually give up and order a pizza.
(oh, and have you tried Mr. Bartley’s burgers in Harvard Square? HUGE burgers, I like them)
I went there on Saturday night and I have to agree about those char-broiled burgers (terrific!). But the foot-long hot dog may have been even better, IMHO. It was one of the best I’ve had in the Boston area.
best buffalo chicken sandwich around
Grumpys is the best… Start with either their half loaf of bread served with a slab of butter or the garlic bread with cheese both well worth their low price. If you get there early they sell some of their best dishes for $5-8 including the chicken parm sandwich – with tons of cheese, the bbq chicken sandwich which is a little less fattening then the rest of the menu and the delicious grumpu fried chicken with mashed and gravy.
