Bomboa
With our $25 off $35 coupon in hand (bought for $3 from restaurant.com), PK and got on the Orange Line and headed to Bomboa. PK took the sofa seat while I sat in the chair. Even though I am several inches taller than PK, I felt like a child sitting at the grown-ups table since my chair was so low to the ground. PK was fine with this.
For drinks, we started out with a Mojito and a Caipirinha (with a cherry flavoring). At this point, our waiter let us know that the Mojitos and Caipirinhas are $5 each on Thursdays. (They normally cost $8). So, we soon finished our drinks and ordered two more. These were great!
For appetizers, we ordered the Tuna Ceviche ($16) and the Steamed Mussels ($9). Both dishes were very good. The mussels were of the best that I have had in the area. The broth was excellent and the mussels were cooked perfectly. When it was time to order our main course, we were getting a bit full so we decided to split the Adobo Chicken ($25). We were both very disappointed with this dish since it was way too salty. The salt really took over the taste of the entire dish.
Verdict: I will not hesitate to go to Bomboa for drinks and appetizers. If anyone has any recommendations for a good main course, let me know.
I haven’t been recently, but I’ve had a couple of fantastic steaks at Bomboa.
I love Bomboa. I think they have the best mojitos in Boston (if you like ‘em sweet– if you like ‘em more minty, go to Bonfire) and the appetizers are good too. I’ve never had a main dish there, though…
